new phone

Sunday, June 27th, 2010

The husband has been complaining about how his phone’s keypad is not working good and its battery has to be charged all the time so I asked him if he wanted me to order him a new phone. He said yes and so I set out to find him a free phone since his account is ready for upgrade. He helped with the selection and we found a phone he likes but we had to pay $19.99 for it even after the deductions. He said it was fine with him as long as he gets the phone so I ordered it for him. It is said to come in 2-4 business days which means it should get here by Tuesday at the earliest. I hope it is really a good phone so I will not hear any complains. He takes care of his phone though so I do not have to worry about that. He has been using the same phone for over two years now and he would not have replaced it if only its battery and keypad are still working fine. Maybe this new one will last a long time too. We will see.

Update:

His phone came two days after it was ordered. Although he did not like it much the first time he held it, the husband claims he likes how good it works now. And the sound quality is better than his old phone which is a big plus.

flowers for Grandma

Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of 1-800-Flowers. All opinions are 100% mine.

June 29 is my Grandmother’s 92nd birthday. She is a tough cookie, that one. She has been through a lot yet she remains strong. She was my doctor when I was little and I got sick. If it was too much for my parents to handle, they delivered me to Grandma’s house, blankets and all. And I would return home the next day all better and ornery once more. She is the best cook I have ever known in my life and a lot of people could attest to that. She had her moments of greed and meanness but who does not? We all love her nonetheless. On her special day I would like to have flowers delivered to her to remind her that I may not have seen her in over four years but I keep her in my mind all the time.I think it is pretty sweet if she opens her door to a flower delivery on her birthday. Knowing Grandma, she might wonder why I did not send her money instead, lol. Will probably even ask my parents how much I paid for the flowers. One can never tell with my beloved Grandmother but I want something different for her. I hope I will have enough money to order her a beautiful flower arrangement before her big day. Thank goodness for sites like http://www.1800flowers.com which makes it easier for people like me to order flowers for the people we love on special occasions. If you have a special person you want to send flowers to, you could visit the site and see their selections of beautiful flower arrangements. Nothing says special better than flowers.

picture

Monday, June 21st, 2010

This was the picture I was yapping about on my previous posts. I took this at the SIL’s house when we visited her weeks ago. It was on a little pine tree on her yard and all we did was swipe some leaves away and there the birds were. The little man was so fascinated by it he yelled to be picked up so he could see the little birdies again and again. Looking at the little birds made me think how helpless babies are. They rely on their parents for everything until they are ready to leave the nest. It is also true for people. It is a shame that some kids never really value the love and nurturing their parents gave them when they were little. Not even so much as a thank you sometimes. Just whining and complaining about how hard life is instead of moving on and trying to do more to survive. Oh well, such is life. I hope you like this picture.

Note: The birds were not harmed when this picture was taken. I was told that a few days later they flew off the nest and sure enough when we got back they were all gone. I was hoping for another glimpse when they were all a bit bigger. I hope mother bird will come back and make a nest in the same spot next time.

busted headlight

Wednesday, June 16th, 2010

The other day, the husband had to go to the store to get a replacement for the Jeep’s busted headlight. When he got home I wondered why he was carrying a big box and when I asked I was told that unlike our other cars, the Jeep requires the whole thing and not just the bulb. Hence the big box where the headlight was at. I did not know that and we have had the Jeep for years. I must not really be paying attention. I asked him if we then could buy hid lights for the Jeep instead because I really like the brighter lights for when we have to drive at night since both of us have poor eyesight. He said he has been thinking about it and he will have to see if it is available for older model cars. I hope it is because it does sound better from what little I have read about it.

bored

Sunday, June 13th, 2010

I planned on posting another picture in this blog but I found out that the picture I wanted is on my other computer. I am too lazy to plug that computer and use it so I did not do it. Perhaps on my next post I will use the other computer so I can post the picture I wanted. There is also a problem since I am not sure if that particular picture has been used yet. We will see.

I am feeling bored today. I have done a lot of things both online and offline and all productive that should have made me feel tired yet fulfilled but I am not feeling either. I am so bored I don’t know what to do. Wait, I know what I want to do. I want to take a vacation to visit my parents and bring the little man with me. I need a break. I need to relax even for just a few weeks. It should make a lot of difference. But financial and other matters prevent me from going anywhere. So I will have to discard that idea for right now. If this gets unbearable I might just ask the husband to do something so we could go. I hope this feeling will go away before it eats at me.

a great way to earn

Friday, June 11th, 2010

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

Chops

There is a new mobile application from Izea, the company behind Social Spark and Sponsored Tweets. It is called WeReward. The application can be downloaded if you have an iPhone and is integrated with Twitter, Facebook, and Foursquare. You get rewards for things you do in the real world. Things like going to your favorite restaurant and eating your favorite food. People do this all the time on Facebook. They post pictures of themselves going places and doing things but most likely they are not paid for it. Whereas if they join WeReward, not only will they get to do what they want, they also get paid for it by points, which translates to cash. All you need to do is complete a task on the real world or check in on your favorite local businesses and earn points at the same time. You not only enjoy being out doing things you want to do, you also get paid for it. Each point is worth a penny so the more points you earn, the more you can cash out when you are ready. How I wish I have an iPhone because this is one task I will be willing to do. If you are interested about this new application, go ahead and visit WeReward.com to know more. I am sure I did not explain it right due to my excitement but you can watch this video I embed on this post so you will understand it better. And when you are ready (and you think this is up your ally) go ahead and Download the App so you can start earning points. This could be a good reason to have an iPhone on my next phone upgrade. I wonder if I can persuade the husband about that :D

more food

Friday, June 11th, 2010

The storm has passed. The sky cleared and so we decided to go out. We did not do anything but went to the drugstore so I could get some OTC antacid and then stopped by at Subway for a cold cut sub. Notice it is all about me? Lol. The husband begged off when I asked if he wanted a sub. So I went in and ordered me a sub. It was so good. And the antacid was good move too because I always get heartburn after eating a sub for reasons I don’t know. I cannot believe at the amount of food I ate today. I could blame it on the weather though so I will not feel guilty about it :)

We had a little argument at home today because the husband wanted to watch tv but the remote did not work and the batteries needed to be replaced. He asked me where the batteries are at but I could not provide him with an answer. I know I should know where it is at because I was the one who took the tray where the batteries were at and used it (after washing it ) to put the bottles of spices in. The problem is that my mind is blank right now. I don’t have a clue where to look. I have looked everywhere it matters and still could not come up with the lost batteries. I had to manually press buttons to make the television work. When I told the husband not to force me to come up with the batteries he just glared at me. Lol. I am lucky he did not yell at me for being a scatterbrain. I have to rack up my brain to find the batteries soon or I will be in big trouble.

his favorite pizza

Friday, June 11th, 2010

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Freschetta. All opinions are 100% mine.

On stormy days like today, we resort to food for company. Right now I have a bowl full of beans and potatoes with ham and a dash of soy sauce in it. It is hot and it is good. The husband has his own bowl too. There is always food to munch on while being coped up in the house. This is better pastime instead of sleeping or staring on the walls, lol. According to us anyway. It is always like that with us. Food is our constant companion. The husband said we may be broke at times but we never run out of food. Sometimes he makes chili which is also good on cold days. But there are times when he prefers his favorite, pizza. We always have a box of pizza (sometimes more) on our freezer for when he wants a dose of his favorite. He likes pepperoni pizza and I have come to like the taste. Especially if it is thin crust. Oh so yummy! We experiment on different frozen pizza brands and next time we go to the store I will tell him to try Freschetta FlatBread to see if it is any good. Freschetta is offering $1 coupon that interested customers can get online which is a good thing because we are all for saving money. We might try all flavors such as Zesty Italian, Roasted Garlic and Spinach, 5 Cheese, and the husband’s favorite, Pepperoni. Maybe more pepperoni for my meat eater. We will surely have a load when we go. I hope we can use the coupon on each box because it means a lot of savings. For an appetizer, I included a picture of that delicious looking pepperoni pizza from Freschetta below.

If you are interested to try this product you could get your coupon too. Just click on the link above and it should direct you to their website. Enjoy your pizza!
